Destination Carlisle’s Halloweekend
October 19 @ 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm
For 10 years, Spooky Saturday has come to downtown Carlisle the third weekend of October. This year, Destination Carlisle, with the help of our downtown neighbors, has decided to spread the Halloween fun over the entire weekend! Downtown will be decorated for the weekend with hundreds of carved pumpkins along our Pumpkin Path and feature other seasonal decor, and our downtown merchants and restaurants will have their windows dressed for fall fun! Throughout the weekend, photo ops, games, crafts, and limited time offers of specially-themed drinks and food will be available.
Our weekend begins on Friday evening with a Farm-to-Table dinner under the stars! Chef Duane Miller of Cafe Bruges and Maria Ntzanis of Grazery will be preparing a multi-course meal, using mostly locally-grown ingredients. This ticketed event has limited seating! We will share proceeds with The Salvation Army of Carlisle’s Stuart House expansion project. Afterwards, attendees will be treated to a ghost tour by Time Walker Tours of Carlisle’s East or West Side neighborhoods. See the event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2845968675634622/
On Saturday afternoon, the 10th Annual Spooky Saturday will fill our downtown with costumed children as they trick-or-treat at our participating merchant locations. Last year, we had 52 locations handing out treats to the 900+ children. Crafts and games will be found along the way! See the event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/743600702740644/
Also on Saturday is Bosler Library’s Comic Con, which is our second main event on Saturday. Event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/439955469947310/
Saturday’s fun continues, as Bosler Library hosts our Halloweekend movie, “Hocus Pocus”, starting at 3:15 PM. Popcorn will be provided, but you can bring your Spooky Saturday haul for snacking!
Later on Saturday night, grown ups get to enjoy a movie, too, with Miss Ruth’s Time Bomb’s Terror and Talk, featuring the movie “Trick r Treat”. Event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/687528955050061
On Sunday, we’re bringing you our Halloweekend Sunday Bucket List. We’ll have 20 tasks, and you’ll have five hours to complete them. We’ll have prizes for those who complete the list in time! Event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/519541738808177/
While costumes are encouraged for the weekend, we ask that adults not wear masks or scary costumes of any kind, as this is a family-friendly event. Dogs are discouraged from the event, as it may be crowded. Thank you for understanding!
